Grupo Jorge Invests in Zuera: New Logistics Center and Solar Park Approved

The Plataforma Logística Industrial Luis Zubieta Lacámara in Zuera (Zaragoza) is set for a significant transformation. The Government Council of Aragon has given the green light for the direct sale of land to Jorge Pork Meat S.L., part of Grupo Jorge, for the development of an ambitious logistics center and a photovoltaic park. This approval marks a crucial milestone for a project poised to strengthen the industrial capacity and energy sustainability of the region.

The land acquisition operation, managed by Aragón Plataforma Logística (APL), involves an initial outlay of 4.5 million euros. An additional 24 million euros for urbanization and land preparation works will be added to this figure, bringing the total investment linked to the land to approximately 28.5 million euros. APL, the promoter of the Plan de Interés General de Aragón (PIGA) for this platform, will pass these costs on to the meat company.

Grupo Jorge's interest in this strategic location, adjacent to the Los Llanos de la Estación de Zuera industrial estate, dates back to 2022. Initially, president Sergio Samper announced an investment close to 60 million euros for a 35-hectare complex. This plan included a four-track rail terminal, a feed warehouse for 525,000 tons, a large refrigerated warehouse for 12,000 pallets, and parking for 200 trucks, with the creation of 192 jobs. Although geotechnical difficulties (sinkholes) altered the original planning and reduced the surface area, the core objective of optimizing logistics processes and expanding activity remains intact.

For property owners and prospective buyers in Zuera and its surroundings, this development signals positive prospects. Grupo Jorge's investment not only guarantees a local economic boost and job creation but also positions Zuera as a key industrial hub. This can translate into increased demand for housing and services, contributing to the stability and potential revaluation of properties. The modernization of logistical infrastructure adds appeal to the area for future investments, solidifying confidence in the Aragonese real estate market.
