Boost for Affordable Housing in Spain: New Comprehensive Management in Asturias, Galicia, Catalonia, Navarre, and Basque Country
Spain takes a significant step towards ensuring access to affordable housing with the award of two key lots in Casa 47's public tender. A Temporary Union of Companies (UTE), spearheaded by Emerald Impact and GuinotPrunera, and including Ingeus and WeRent!, has been selected for the comprehensive management of 6,228 homes. This contract, driven by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda, aims to bolster the public affordable rental housing stock and improve the quality of life for thousands of families.
The management will cover properties in Asturias, Galicia (Lot 1: 1,448 homes, €7,713,167) and in Catalonia, Navarre, and the Basque Country (Lot 4: 4,780 homes, €9,982,913). For an initial period of two years, the UTE will be responsible for a wide spectrum of services: from initial property takeover and daily maintenance to contract formalization, payment management, and direct tenant support. Technical diagnostics, necessary adaptations, legal support, and the prevention of housing loss situations are also included, ensuring efficient, people-centric administration.
This comprehensive management model, with Emerald Impact operating under a limited-profit and "triple impact" approach (real estate, social, and environmental), and GuinotPrunera contributing over 120 years of experience, underscores a commitment to housing stability.
