Demonstrating a strong commitment to society, the Official College of Quantity Surveyors and Technical Architects of Madrid (COAATM) has mobilized over 80 of its chartered professionals to actively collaborate in these crucial inspection tasks. The response has been both immediate and overwhelming. Within just a few hours of the College's call, dozens of specialized professionals registered for the initiative, which has been made available to the Community of Madrid. These experts, possessing extensive experience in analyzing building pathologies, will be available throughout August to assess structural safety and determine the full extent of damage sustained by homes and other properties. Their involvement is fundamental to ensuring properties are safe and to guide public administrations in their reconstruction and aid efforts. The work of these chartered technical architects is not merely an act of service, but a guarantee of technical rigor for affected property owners. Their professional assessment is vital for determining habitability and safety conditions, thereby streamlining recovery procedures and minimizing future risks. This is not the first time the COAATM has showcased its emergency response capabilities. In January 2021, during Storm Filomena, they effectively collaborated with the Community of Madrid, evaluating the safety status of schools and institutes, which allowed for their reopening with maximum safety guarantees.
